Dr. Howard Katzman has more than 40 years of research experience in space materials, especially carbon-carbon, graphite-epoxy, and carbon-phenolic. He has a PhD in Physical Chemistry from UCLA and is currently a Senior Scientist in the Space Materials Laboratory at The Aerospace Corporation. He is a SAMPE Fellow and member of the Los Angeles Chapter’s Board, where he serves as Scholarship Chairman. He has administered the Chapter’s Irene Epstein Memorial Scholarship since its inception 25 years ago. He also coordinates the yearly Manufacturing Problem Prevention Program at The Aerospace Corporation.ward Katzman is a SAMPE-Los Angeles Board Member and he coordinates the yearly Irene Epstein Scholarship. Howard also works at The Aerospace Corporation.
